: This is a very beautiful property, in terms of the interior. The exterior is also designed to give the vibe of a Shakespearean era cottage/manor. It is nicely appointed and quite comfortable. It was not cheaply built--the trim and components are often high in quality (although the dishwasher and fridge were quite basic). The amount of space was splendid in terms of the price we paid per night (one of the primary reasons for our high rating). The kitchen was fairly well supplied with everything you need. The beds were comfortable. All of the electronics and WiFi worked well, and there is lots of space in two of the three bathrooms (huge tubs plus a shower). Three baths and three bedrooms is a great ratio! There are two full-size beds in one bedroom, a king-size bed in the master bedroom, and a queen-size bedroom on the main level. We were told that the couch near the front door was also a hide-a-bed, even though we did not use it. So, you could feasibly have 10 people sleep in beds here. They should tell you in advance that the hot water is on-demand, so the first time you use it it takes a few minutes to get flowing (we found this out when we called the person who gave us the front-door code).
: As other reviewers point out, there are some minor issues (like door knobs) that could be fixed. It is obvious that the property has no water softener, and that is why the shower heads provide such a poor flow--they are clogged with hard water deposits. The carpets and rugs could use a good cleaning, as was evident when we opened up the door for the first time and a stagnant smell suggested that upkeep could be improved. The windows could all use a good cleaning. The yard area around the complex is in need of weeding and getting rid of wild trees that are growing. The neighborhood is fine, but it is definitely not beautiful--you are surrounded by apartment buildings and older homes, many of which are a bit run down. We did not ever feel like the area was unsafe, however. It is just busy. None of these neighborhood issues negatively affected our stay, as we spent little time outside. But the complex sits directly on a somewhat busy road, and the road noise was occasionally a bit pronounced (cars without good mufflers) when we were trying to sleep (earplugs did the trick). Overall, our children still enjoyed the place quite a bit, and we adults loved the ample space as compared to a cramped hotel room. Our high score reflects our overall satisfaction, although we hope that the management company will do more to keep up the property in the future (hence the detail provided here).
