  : I liked the casual nature of the inn. It was warm, friendly, and laid back. It was nice having the restaurant right there. Parking right out front was fantastic. I love the hot showers.
  : Muffins, yogurt and fruit was delicious. Coffee was very good. Sadly the staff is limited as it appears to be the owners who try their best to do most of the work. The coffee carafe was empty both mornings and we watched guests try to figure out what to do. There is limited seating the the area where they serve breakfast so guests who came down after the very early guests, had to sit in the dark dining room and move the dishes on the dining tales that were already set up;. Guests who came down early didn't just eat and let others sit down to eat,. There were inconsiderate as they sat there and talked for over an hour both mornings we were there. My recommendations for whatever it's worth as a person who has traveled all over the US, Canada and other countries: Guests should go the beautiful sitting area by the fireplace to chat and bring their coffee. I would recommended the couches by the fireplace be accessible by creating a different arrangement and making that area more accessible for guests to gather. The cream pitcher should me marked "cream" because I watched several guests look around for cream. It might seem obvious to some, but most of the guests I saw looked around and eventually asked where the cream was. Also, check the food/coffee/yogurt supply more frequently. Both mornings I wasn't able to have any yogurt as it was empty at an early hour. One last thing, as a person who is allergic to tree nuts, I had no idea what was safe to eat and what wasn't. While the breads and muffins looked delicious, I had to have someone taste them for me before I could eat them. As a measure of safety, it's important to make a small sign for the breads, muffins and granola that indicate they contain nuts, or that they are nut free. It could be life saving. The owners try very hard and I respect their efforts to make a living in a small town.

  : Hotel was well placed for our tour of New England. Lovely, big entrance area with comfortable seating and imposing fireplace. Restaurant served very good food from an extensive menu with very pleasant staff. Breakfast was reasonably good if you were not too late (see below). Hotel was easy to find with good parking directly outside.
  : The room was poor and had unrepaired damage from a leak in the ceiling. It should not have been offered for guests in this state. The facilities in the room were limited - eg no kettle and only one towel for each person. Staff were difficult to find and the reception was mostly unmanned. This was even the case when attempting to check out. The breakfast, although fine for us, was not topped up after 8am and anyone arriving later had an extremely limited choice.

  : The location and the charming atmosphere, the history of the building itself. The restaurant is incredible.
  : The building is 100 years old and rooms are small and pretty dated, as is the entire building. This is not a concern though. My main concern was cleanliness. My preference was not to shower there at all, given that there was hair in the shower tray and the shower curtain was all pink towards the bottom. The linens on the bad were washed and ironed, but the sheet had stains.

  : The continental breakfast and the young lady that checked us in. Location was delightful being on the common.
  : No one could be found in the morning to help with refilling the breakfast food, evan after ringing many many times for assistance. Finally a man showed up at the check-in and check-out area, no personality, no smile. Room was not much bigger than a closet.
