  : Colin is a very attentive host, making sure that everything is done to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The location is 15 mn drive from Malibu but you feel in the middle of nowhere, very peaceful place surrounded by horses. Your basically waking up in a western movie atmosphere!!

  : Great location. We went for a wedding at calamigos ranch so it was so nice to walk across the street and not have to worry about driving. Also location is perfect for getting down to beach, into LA, up to thousand oaks quickly while not having to stay in the ity. Very nice and welcoming hosts. The property is beautiful with a lot of plants.
  : The room was not very clean. The compost toilet is not for everyone as I know it gave my friend a bit of a shock.

  : The equestrian retreat was such a unique way to enjoy Malibu and the surrounding areas. My fiance and I loved staying above the barn and getting to enjoy a coffee while overlooking the horses in the morning. The room itself had so much charm with old pictures and interesting artifacts. The Aussie host Colin is one of the most interesting people either of us have ever met. We really enjoyed hearing all his stories about old Hollywood as well as his days spent living in the "bush" in Australia. He set up a horseback riding tour in the Santa Monica mountains that was by far the highlight! And he left a bunch of handpicked oranges on our car when we left to checkout. We will definitely be planning to go back again as it is also super close to all the highlights in Malibu but a fraction of the price of staying there. Plus you get the rustic mountain experience.
  : If you are someone who is a bit bougie this may not be your place. It is humble, rustic, and has tons of character but it is not fancy pancy.
