  : The lobby seemed clean and inviting, unlike the front desk clerk!.
  : when I arrived at Fairfield Inn, no one was at the front desk, but I did see a lady standing at the side door eating something and talking on the phone. She was the only person in or near the front desk. I stood there for at least 2-3 minutes waiting for the front desk person to assist me. The lady looked at me twice but kept talking on the phone to what sounded like a friend. Finally she came over, still on the phone with her friend. She did NOT greet me at all! In fact, I had to say HELLO to her! She motioned with her hand for me to hand her something, so I handed her my credit card. She corrected me by saying NO, GIVE ME YOUR ID! Those are the FIRST words she said to me, not hello or any other polite greeting! It was 3:00pm and she said she didn't have any clean rooms yet and I'd have to wait. While waiting, I asked to see the pool, which was one reason I chose Fairfield for my family. She informed me the pool was closed because no one there knew how to put the chemicals in the pool! She said she didn't know how and so they closed it, temporarily! I explained to her that i was disappointed. She instantly offered to refund my money if i wanted. I told her to keep the reservation, but that i would go and check one of the other hotels to see if they had availability. She said OKAY. When i returned, about 15 minutes later, she was standing behind the desk talking to another lady, but looked like she was about to leave. I asked her if she told the new lady about my refund. She briefly explained to the lady about my refund and promptly left. AFTER ROCHELLE left, the new lady informed me that she DID NOT know how to process a refund, but I shouldn't worry because she would email me my receipt and assured me it would be credited back to my card!!! :/ What the heck! When I asked the new lady if the manager was around to help, she told me that the manager JUST WALKED OUT THE DOOR!

  : No temperature control in the shower. Water temp stayed between iceberg and just cold enough to cause hypothermia.
