: The property has a pretty nice aesthetic. Also, everything in the canal and bourbon area is walking distance, which is nice.
: My time was pretty pleasant until I was rudely interrupted and confronted by some guy at the desk. I was told in a very, very nasty manner to not open the door for a guest who was simply trying to check in. The guy said “m’am don’t do that ever again, thank you”. Extremely nasty. Extremely disrespectful. Extremely disgusting way for a man to act towards a lady, a hotel guest, who didn’t think this was a problem. Now I’m all for “rules” and “policies”, but no where is this stated and nor was I told to not open the door for someone who is checking in BECAUSE SOMEONE OPENED THE DOOR FOR ME WHILE I WAS CHECKING IN. So that doesn’t make sense. No one told the gentlemen who opened the door for me to not do it. The ladies at the desk were just so friendly when I first checked in, then that guy ruined my ENTIRE EXPERIENCE . It’s not what you say, it’s HOW you say it. I would never in a million years book with HI for that reason alone. These are not the individuals you should have working and serving the front desk at your establishment. Never, ever again. Also, is housekeeping not a thing? We had to ask for towels and only received a short few. Additionally, no one came to empty the trash cans or anything. The lighting in the room was a bit weird and the elevator lift is entirely too slow. When you’re spending your money, your hard earned money at an establishment like HI, where you’re giving back and pouring into their organization, it’s a SLAP IN THE FACE. I’ll take my business elsewhere. NEVER AGAIN.
